For mac osx 10.11:
- use finder to open terminal
- type brew install ruby
- paste the ruby install like windows install page
- use cucumber 1.3.19 and watir 0.8.0
- install appium_lib gem
- install appium
- install java JDK
- install android SDK
- go to your sdk install folder and make it non hidden https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3227699?tstart=0
